Seasonal Lawn Treatments
The heart of what we do is The Full-Year Lawn Programme™: four seasonal treatments timed to what your lawn needs at that point in the year. Spring Starter wakes the lawn up with a specialist feed and a liquid herbicide for the moss and weeds that emerge early; Summer Guard uses a slow-release feed adjusted for warm months — more phosphorous and potassium — plus a systemic weedkiller that nourishes for ten to thirteen weeks. Autumn Reset brings a disease check, early moss control and a low-nitrogen, potassium-rich feed to build roots before winter; Winter Protect adds a winter feed, a heavy-dose moss treatment and an inspection for insect damage and turf disease. Each visit is tailored to your lawn, not a national spec sheet.

Weed Control
Dandelions, clover, daisies, buttercups, yarrow, knotweed and the more stubborn invaders all spread through a lawn and crowd out the grass. We treat them with targeted, broad-spectrum systemic herbicides (the professional actives mecoprop, dicamba and 2,4-D) that kill the weed without harming the turf. Because we're fully qualified in the safe use of pesticides and spraying equipment, we can use treatments that simply aren't available over the counter — applied at the correct rate, exactly where they're needed.

Moss Control & Removal
Moss is the number-one problem we're called out for around the Surrey Hills, and it's a symptom as much as a cause — it thrives on acidic soil, damp, shade, compaction and weak grass. We apply a professional iron-based treatment so the moss blackens and dies, then come back to rake and remove the dead moss (heavy infestations are cleared by scarification or verti-cutting to stop it turning to thatch). Finally we put right the conditions that let it in, so it doesn't simply return the following winter.

Scarification
Over time a lawn builds up a layer of dead grass, moss and thatch that stops water, air and nutrients getting to the roots. Powered scarifying equipment mechanically rakes it all out — it looks dramatic at first, but it's the single biggest step in reviving a tired lawn, and it's recommended every two to three years. We usually follow up with overseeding and feed so the grass comes back thicker than before.

Aeration & Spiking
Years of mowing, foot traffic and clay-heavy Surrey soil leave a lawn compacted — which is why it puddles, dries out and grows moss. We offer solid tine aeration, which punches channels without removing soil, and hollow tine aeration, which lifts small cores out to relieve compaction more deeply. Both improve airflow, drainage and water absorption and let roots grow stronger. It's one of the most underrated treatments there is, and it makes every other treatment work better.

Overseeding, Seeding & Hydroseeding
Thin, tired lawns are rescued by overseeding — working fresh, mixed-species grass seed into the existing lawn to thicken it up, fill bare patches and improve colour and disease resistance (worth doing at least every three years, ideally after scarification or aeration). For large or uneven areas we also offer hydroseeding: a sprayed slurry of seed, mulch, water and fertiliser that germinates in five to seven days for fast, even establishment — a cost-effective alternative to laying turf.

A renovation combines scarification, aeration, overseeding, feeding and weed and moss control across the year to rebuild the lawn from the soil up. Fertilisation & Feeding
A hungry lawn is a weak lawn — it thins out, loses colour and lets moss and weeds in. We feed with professional-grade fertilisers matched to the season and your grass type: a growth-promoting feed in spring, a slow-release warm-month feed through summer, and a low-nitrogen, potassium-rich feed in autumn to harden the grass for winter. The result is healthy colour and strong, even growth — without the flush of soft, disease-prone growth that comes from over-feeding at the wrong time.

Lawn Pest Control
Some of the worst lawn damage comes from below the surface. We treat leatherjackets with a residual insecticide (Acelepryn) from mid-July through August, before and during the crane fly hatch, and chafer grubs preventatively when the adult beetles peak between May and July — severe infestations may need treatment over more than one year. Because moles and foraging crows are really hunting those grubs, controlling the grubs removes their food source; for stubborn cases we'll advise on professional mole catchers, decoys and deterrents. We also tackle ant nests by hand, since the effective commercial products are now banned in the UK.

Lawn Disease & Patch Treatment
Red thread, fungal disease and mould, hydrophobic dry patches, scorched brown or yellow patches and the tell-tale rings of dog-wee burn all have different causes and different fixes. It starts with a free survey; then we treat the disease with the right fungicide (most red-thread lawns recover in two to three weeks), break up dry, water-repellent soil with aeration and a HydraPro wetting agent, and repair urine-burn patches by raking, forking, seeding and topdressing. We diagnose what's actually happening — often a mix of feeding, watering and soil issues — before we treat.

A striped or plain cut for lawns of every size, from small ornamental lawns to large fine turf, using professional Ferris, Allett and Weibang machines. Clippings are cleared and disposed of responsibly in the green bin or on the compost.
